All Oleo products are validated within TA Savery’s UKAS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited test laboratory.

Testing, Verification, and Validation

For more than fifty years, Oleo and TA Savery have been engaged in testing full-size energy absorption systems to guarantee predictable and consistently reliable performance in hydraulic and deformation impact energy dissipation. ​

Our test laboratory offers a wide range of tests – static, quasi-static, dynamic, environmental, structural, characterisation, fatigue, and durability – that meet international standards such as EN 15227, EN 12663, EN 15551, and EN 15566.​

These facilities are continuously utilised for type testing, simulation correlation, and are also accessible for third party product testing under the TA Savery ISO/IEC 17025 certification.

Dynamic Testing – Drop Tower

At 32 metres tall, our Drop Tower is amongst the largest free falling test rig in the world, enabling high-energy dynamic impact testing. ​

With a free fall height of up to 26 meters, and adjustable test masses from 1,500 kg to 12,000 kg, the Drop Tower can generate up to 2,800 kJ energy absorption.​

Advanced instrumentation measures force (up to 2000kN), displacement & stroke, deceleration, and velocity during testing.

Dynamic Testing – Titan Test Rig

With a free fall height of 3.75 meters, and adjustable test masses from 380kg to 10,000kg, the Drop Rig can generate up to 360kJ energy absorption.​

Used for testing many products including Coupler Deformation Tubes, an array of test data is measured including force (up to 1500kN), displacement, velocity and deceleration.​

All testing performed by Oleo is accompanied by a TA Savery UKAS test report, in line with ISO/IEC 17025.
